Executive Director — Channel Partners

Michael Schumacher serves as Executive Director of Channel Partners at Phoenix Capital Solutions, leading the firm’s business broker and channel partner network — the origination engine through which every transaction enters the Phoenix Capital pipeline. His responsibilities include broker recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing relationship management across all markets where the firm operates.

Michael’s career blends Fortune 50 executive leadership with deep entrepreneurial and capital advisory experience. He spent a decade as Senior Vice President at SYSCO Corporation, where he led large-scale sales, marketing, merchandising, operations, and training initiatives across a national platform. That experience managing complex distribution channels, building high-performance teams, and executing growth strategies across diverse markets established the operational foundation he brings to Phoenix Capital.

Following his corporate tenure, Michael served as CFO and COO at Zanios Foods before founding L and H LLC and its associated companies. In these roles, he has operated as Chairman, Contract CEO and CFO, and strategic advisor to a wide range of small and mid-sized businesses. He later founded BIZDOC Capital Group, a consulting and capital advisory firm focused on helping entrepreneurs access the financial and operational resources typically reserved for larger organizations. His work has provided firsthand insight into the challenges business owners face in securing capital and planning successful exits — insight that directly informs how he positions Phoenix Capital’s solutions to broker partners and their clients.

Michael is also a recognized thought leader in small business finance and operations. He is the host of the Small Business Capital America podcast and the author of several books, including Mastering Cash Flow: The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Sustainable Success, Funding Strategies: Capital Choices, Navigating M&A: Strategies for Future-Proof Deals, and Fierce Will Meets Humble Hearts. His published work reflects a consistent focus on cash flow optimization, capital structuring, operational discipline, and leadership — all of which closely align with Phoenix Capital’s mission and approach.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Beloit College, a Master of Business Administration (summa cum laude) from Tampa College, and has completed doctoral studies (ABD) at the University of Phoenix. At Phoenix Capital, Michael brings a rare combination of institutional operating discipline, entrepreneurial capital expertise, and trusted relationships across the business broker and small business ecosystem — making him uniquely positioned to lead and scale the firm’s channel partner network.
